Local Catholic schools achieve significant NAPLAN gains

Seventeen SA Catholic schools have been recognised by the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) for the high gains achieved by students in their NAPLAN scores between 2014 and 2016.

Students in these schools who sat NAPLAN reading or numeracy tests in 2014 and again in 2016 have shown increases in their scores that are significantly greater than both the national average gain and the gain by students from other similar schools. The Catholic schools are:

  • Caritas College, Port Augusta West, Year 7-9, Numeracy
  • Christ the King School, Warradale, Year 3-5, Reading
  • Holy Family Catholic School, Parafield Gardens, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • Marymount College, Hove, Year 7-9, Numeracy
  • St Brigid's School, Kilburn, Year 3-5, Reading
  • St Francis School, Lockleys, Year 3-5, Reading
  • St John Bosco School, Brooklyn Park, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • St Joseph's School, Ottoway, Year 3-5, Both Reading & Numeracy
  • St Joseph's School, Renmark, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • St Joseph's School, Clare, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • St Joseph's School, Murray Bridge, Year 3-5, Reading
  • St Margaret Mary's School, Croydon Park, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • St Michael's College, Henley Beach, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • St Patrick's School, Mansfield Park, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • St Teresa's School, Brighton, Year 3-5, Numeracy
  • St Therese Primary School, Colonel Light Gardens, Year 3-5, Both Reading & Numeracy
  • St Thomas More School, Elizabeth Park, Year 3-5, Reading
