Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

Grace and peace I hope that this note finds you well.

After a long and prayerful process, I wish to communicate the following appointments to you.

1. Fr Manu Kumbidiyamackal MSFS is appointed as Parish Priest of the Henley Beach Parish beginning the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, the weekend of 21st - 22nd January 2023.

2. During early January, after the departure of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart from Henley Beach Parish, Fr Roderick O’Brien will be the temporary Administrator of the Parish until Fr Manu takes up his appointment.

3.  Fr Kym Spurling is appointed as Parish Priest of the Para Hills/Modbury Parish beginning the weekend of 21st – 22nd January 2023.

4. Deacon Andrew Kirkbride is appointed for one year as Pastoral Director of the Greenacres/Walkerville Parish beginning the weekend of 21st – 22nd January 2023 (to be reviewed after 12 months). Fr Dean Marin is appointed as the Moderator Priest for the Parish.

5. Fr David Thoroughgood is appointed as the permanent Sunday and weekday supply priest of the Greenacres/Walkerville Parish and for Funeral Masses, Penance and Anointing of the Sick.

6. Fr Philip Marshall is appointed Parish Priest of Mount Barker/Strathalbyn commencing the Second Sunday of Easter, 16 April 2023. At that time, he will also continue his pastoral care of the Murray Bridge Parish, Murray Mallee Parish and Mallee Border Parish as Moderator Priest for the rest of the year 2023. From Monday, 9th January – 16th April 2023, Fr Philip will be taking some well-earned leave.

7. Fr Richard Morris continues as Parish Priest of Mount Barker until 16th April 2023 at which time he will retire from full time ministry. He will be available for one year as a supply priest for the Murray Bridge Parish, Murray Mallee Parish and Mallee Border Parish.

8. Deacon Arturo Jimenea is appointed for one year Pastoral Director of the Murray Bridge Parish, Murray Mallee Parish and Mallee Border Parish from 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, the weekend of 14th – 15th January 2023 (to be reviewed after 12 months). Fr Dean Marin is appointed Moderator Priest for the Parish from 14th -15th January until 16th April 2023.

9. Fr John Vildzius is available for one year as the regular supply priest for the parishes of Murray Bridge Parish, Murray Mallee Parish and Mallee Border Parish from the weekend of 14th – 15th January 2023.

10. Fr Ian Wilson will continue to be available as supply priest in the Mount Barker/Strathalbyn Parish, as well as the Murray Bridge Parish, Murray Mallee Parish and Mallee Border Parish.

11. Fr Santosh Pereira MSFS is appointed Parish Priest of the Elizabeth Parish from the Second Sunday of Easter, 16 April 2023. Until then, the Parish will continue to be supported for Masses, Funerals and Sacraments by the Cathedral Parish and the Archdiocese.

12. Fr Christopher Matala is appointed Parish Priest of the Morphett Vale Parish from 16 April 2023.

13. The Albert Park/Pennington Parish will come under the pastoral care of the Resurrection Fathers – Frs Roman Palma CR and Marian Szablewski CR. This is in accordance with the wishes of their Provincial, from 16th April 2023.

14. Fr Tony Densley will retire from full time ministry from 16th April 2023

15. Fr Peter Zwaans is appointed Parish Priest of the Penola Parish from 16th April 2023.

16. Fr Arul Dev SdM is appointed Parish Priest of the Naracoorte Parish and the Bordertown Parish from 16th April 2023.

17. Frs Peter Zwaans, Olek Stittat and Arul Dev SdM will work together to provide Weekend Masses throughout the South East Deanery.

18. Fr Anthony Beltrame is appointed Assistant Priest to the Hectorville Parish from the Epiphany of the Lord, the weekend of 7th – 8th January 2023.

19. Fr Matthew Newman is appointed Assistant Priest to the Adelaide Cathedral Parish from the weekend of 7th – 8th January 2023.

20. Fr Pat Lopresti is appointed Assistant Priest to the Adelaide Cathedral Parish from Ash Wednesday, 22nd February 2023.

21. Fr Santhosh Nazareth CSC is welcomed to the Archdiocese and is appointed pro tem as Assistant Priest to the Sacred Heart Parish (Hindmarsh/Findon) from Friday of 4th week of Advent, 23rd December 2022.
