Retirement of Ms Pauline Connelly
Deputy Executive Director of Centacare
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Grace and peace, I hope this note finds you well.
I write to inform you of the pending retirement of Pauline Connelly, Deputy Executive Director of Centacare.
Pauline has professionally been involved in the leadership of Centacare, the welfare arm of the Archdiocese, in different capacities for 30 years. Her Christian values and deep commitment to helping those who suffer have defined her influence and service throughout this time.
Pauline’s career began in Marriage and Family Counselling. In 1994, with Bishop Eugene Hurley, Pauline established Centacare in the Port Pirie Diocese. This paved the way to her leadership role in Adelaide, alongside long-serving Director, Dale West.
Upon Dale’s retirement in early 2021, Pauline guided Centacare through a period of significant change. Never afraid of challenges inherent in community services, Pauline led with grace, selflessness and distinction before choosing to return to her substantive position late last year.
We will no doubt have many opportunities to thank Pauline before she enters a new phase early next month in what I know will continue to be a fulfilling life, enriched by her faith.
Pauline will remain on Centacare’s Advisory Council and on the Archdiocesan Clergy Life and Ministry Team.
I take this opportunity to sincerely thank Pauline for her dedication to the work of Centacare. Her wise and robust counsel, and her unwavering support of all, will be greatly missed.
In Domino,
