Re: WhatsApp and Facebook Impersonation

Grace and peace, I hope this note finds you well. 

I am writing to inform you that I have become aware that there are fake WhatsApp and Facebook profiles that have been created in my name.  Please note that these profiles have been reported to the respective platforms.

The WhatsApp profile is engaging with people around the donation of funds for an Appeal surrounding the Papua New Guinea Appeal.

I ask that you share this information with your Parishioners around this fake profile to ensure that people know they are not endorsed profiles and that under no circumstances are they to donate money.

Please be aware that several fake profiles have been created in Archbishop Patrick O’Regan’s name, both on Facebook and WhatsApp. Please be aware these are not endorsed profiles and under no circumstances are people to donate money via them.
