At our last MCPW Network Meeting, the Migrant Chaplains and Pastoral Workers expressed that they would like our end of year gathering to focus on celebrating a Thanksgiving Mass, to bring us together in a very holy and poignant way.

On Saturday the 9th December, 2023, Migrant Chaplains and Pastoral Workers came to celebrate that special meal together, with 5 Migrant Chaplains and Priest Celebrants of our multicultural communities dressed in purple to celebrate the Holy Mass this was a special Mass indeed.

Attended by the Lithuanian, Chinese, Indonesian, Slovenian, Hungarian, German, Croatian, Maltese and Zimbabwean Communities; together we prayed for all our communities both here and abroad and especially for peace in those countries who are deeply suffering.  We asked for courage and the Grace of our Lord as we prayed for a more gentle future where everyone has a home, and is valued.

After Mass we enjoyed a Christmas themed meal together with delicious meals and sweets from all over the world! My favourite was the Potica!! (a Slovenian nut cake)

The Lithuanian Community generously provided the Chapel and Hall for our Mass and Lunch. We give much thanks to Father Gavin and Peter and all their community for their kind hospitality. It truly was a warm gathering for those who were present.
